There have been over 4,224,268 cases of Coronavirus around the world and over 285,090 people have died worldwide since the start of the virus.
The coronavirus pandemic, and its devastating impacts on the lives of people and the global economy, has brought home the risks that commercial wildlife trade and consumption also pose to human society. The warning signs have been there for years, but we have failed to learn from past mistakes. We cannot afford to do so again.
For each T-SHIRT sold we donate directly to Born Free to help with their campaign to bring animal and wet markets to an end. This will help to prevent future pandemics like COVID-19.
Inmany animal markets, wild animals of many different species may be traded live and slaughtered on-site, often in appalling and unhygienic conditions. It is in these markets where the risk of viruses and other pathogens passing from wild animals to people is highest.
More than 90 per cent of the stalls at Wuhan's biggest wet market had recently resumed business after the coronavirus lockdown was lifted from the former epicentre.
What's stopping future outbreaks from occurring? Should we act now to prevent this?
As the world looks to recover from COVID-19, a return to business, as usual for these animal and wet markets cannot be an option, and these all need to stop to prevent future pandemics from occurring again. We as humans need to learn from our mistakes, come together and end this all, one t-shirt at a time. Let's raise awareness.
Why we should all get a T-SHIRT:
We donate directly to Born Free who is running a campaign to shut down animal and wet markets - this will prevent future pandemics.
This will help to increase awareness about the action that needs to be taken now to prevent future pandemics.
Born Free is calling for an end to commercial wildlife markets and the commercial trade in wild animals for any purpose, in order to help protect species from extinction, prevent animal cruelty, and reduce the risk to human health as we have seen from COVID-19.
WE DESPERATELY NEED AS MUCH HELP AS POSSIBLE
Born Free is calling on the World Health Organisation (WHO), Office International Epizoologie (OIE) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) to encourage the introduction and enforcement of legislation to close wildlife markets.
For each T-SHIRT sold we donate directly to Born Free to help with their campaign to bring animal and wet markets to an end to prevent future pandemics like COVID-19.
